Every School Day Counts Because Attendance Matters!

Will your child earn perfect attendance this month? What a great goal to strive for! When students are not in school they miss out on important and valuable instruction and peer interactions. This year we are monitoring all student attendance including, excused and unexcused absences, tardies, and early dismissals. If your child had a doctor's appointment, please get a note to excuse his/her absence, tardy or early dismissal and send it in with your child.
Each month we will recognize students with perfect attendance. In the months of September and October we will not count tardies or early dismissals against students. Starting in November, only students that attend school everyday and have no unexcused tardies or early dismissals will be eligible for "perfect attendance."
Students that miss 10% of the days they are enrolled in school will be considered "Chronically absent" in the eyes of the state of Maryland.
