The Maryland Center for School Safety released information late last night about a nationwide social media threat that has been circulating throughout communities. SCPS wants to make all of our families aware that this threat has been deemed non-credible by local law enforcement, and schools will continue normal operations today. As always, student and staff safety is our highest priority and we appreciate the outreach from our community on this issue.

On August 28, 2024, the staff at Princess Anne Elementary was given the opportunity to participate in a unique team-building activity. After the staff was divided randomly into teams, Principal Christa Taylor gave each team an envelope with $25. The staff was asked as a team to choose a way they could use the money and ninety minutes of their time to give back to the community. The staff members came up with very creative ideas to include: -Purchasing snacks and creating a basket for the local fire and police departments -Purchasing supplies for our Princess Anne Elementary “Pretty Princess” group -Purchasing supplies and filling five backpacks for students in need -Purchasing supplies and treats for animals at the local animal shelter -Purchasing and delivering a “Peace Lily” to a grieving family -Purchasing and creating five toiletry baskets for residents at Manokin Manor -Purchasing needed items and delivering them to the Seton Center -Purchasing pastries and delivering them to the staff at Chesapeake Healthcare and Maple Shade The staff enjoyed working together to brighten someone else’s day!

Good evening, wildcat families! This is Mrs. Taylor, principal of Princess Anne Elementary School. Today, we welcomed our Pre K3 and Pre K4 classes. Everyone had a great day, with lots of smiling faces! Tomorrow, we will welcome everyone back to school, including our Kindergarten and First Grade students. Please remember that all Pre K3 and Pre K4 students who get dropped off or picked up from school will need be dropped off and picked up in the front parking lot loop. Any Kindergarten and First Grade students who get dropped off or picked up from school will need to be dropped off and picked up in the back drop off loop. You should stay in your car for drop off and pick up, as a staff member will come to assist you. Please be patient with the bus pick up and drop off times. It will take some time for the schedule to be adjusted. Parents must be waiting for the bus at drop off. If the bus driver does not see an adult at the home, they will not let the student off of the bus. Finally, please ensure that you bring your legal ID with you to pick up your child or visit the school. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!
