For me, Women's History Month is a time to remember and celebrate all the women that came before us who battled great odds in order to create a world where women are allowed to achieve greatness. Because learning never ends, I have started working on my 2nd Master's degree in Visual Communication.

On Tuesday, March 26, the Little Annemessex Chapter of the National Honor Society, advised by Mr. Randy Laird, held their annual induction of new members. All senior members received their stole which they will wear at graduation. All new members received their membership pin. Congratulations to all members!

Erin Walbert - 8th and 9th grade US History I and II Women’s History month represents all the strides women have made in US history. Women have only had the right to vote for about a quarter of our country’s total history, but have always been very influential ‘behind the scenes’. We’ve come a long way since the first settlers, but still have a ways to go to reach true equality. This month celebrates the victories and recognizes the goals we still aim to reach. 2024 CAHS Teacher of the Year, Women's soccer, Outdoor Track and Field Coach, and Recycling Club Advisor.

Mrs. Amanda Thomas is a science teacher here at Crisfield High School. To her Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the contributions and achievements of women in history. Many of the women had to advocate for themselves which allow us women to do the things we do today.

Mrs. Cathy Tapman
I am the IEP Clerk. Some of my duties include schedule meetings, send out Teacher Input Sheets and enter information into the meeting minutes for the caseworker, file paperwork, distribute IEP Snapshots at the beginning of the school year and when the semester changes and obtain teacher signature on Teacher's Receipt of SNAPSHOT, and attend IEP meetings and take notes.
Women's history month is a reminder of the many women who existed before me to lay the building blocks of what accomplishments women have made to date. Women have gone unrecognized for major influential changes so having a month dedicated to recognizing all the hard work that's been done is important. It is a reminder to be grateful for the women in our history.
I live in VA and have been married for 35 years. I have two children and five grandchildren and I am a 12-year cancer survivor.

Hannah Sterling

Mrs. Jennifer Daniels
Special Education Teacher
Women's History Month is special because it makes us stop and recognize the contributions of women that we might overlook otherwise. I think it is very important to find a job that you love.

Mrs. Susan Beaver is an educational interpreter at Crisfield High School, meaning she works with deaf students to facilitate communication between the student, teachers, administration and peers. Her parents are also deaf, making her a CODA, or Child of a Deaf Adult. She is married and has a wonderful son and daughter. To Mrs. Beaver, Women's History Month means taking the time to honor and reflect on women's achievements, which paved the way for future generations and continue to do so in inspiring ways, as it serves as a reminder that women have been the foundation of our country and have served in many pivotal roles in our country's history. Honoring women, past and present, during this month is a testament to dreaming big and that she, as a woman, is able to achieve anything she sets her mind to do.

Mrs. Tracy Ward
I’m a Certified Paraprofessional in the special Education department. All the accomplishments that women have done to prove that they can do the same thing as a man we have come a long way in history. I’m a people person who loves my job. I’m fun to be around and love my students and my school.

Mrs. Lea LaRue

For her it is a time to celebrate female composers, directors and musicians who have changed the face of music throughout the years.
Her goal is to instill a love of music into her kids in class and show them they can use these skills to be successful in any venture in life.

Women's History Month holds profound significance for me as a mother of two girls. It serves as a powerful reminder of the strides women have made throughout history, highlighting the remarkable achievements, contributions, and resilience of women in shaping the world we live in today. As a mother, this month provides an invaluable opportunity to instill in my daughters a sense of pride in their gender and a deep appreciation for the women who have paved the way for them. It's a chance to celebrate the diverse stories of women from all walks of life, showcasing the strength, intelligence, and determination that have fueled progress. Women's History Month serves as a call to action for me as a parent. It encourages me to actively engage in conversations with my daughters about the challenges women have faced and continue to face, fostering a sense of empathy and a commitment to creating a more equitable future. I want my girls to be inspired by the stories of trailblazers, learn from the struggles of those who fought for women's rights, and feel empowered to pursue their dreams without limitations. Ultimately, Women's History Month is a time for reflection, education, and empowerment in our household. It's about nurturing a spirit of resilience, encouraging my daughters to embrace their unique qualities, and fostering a belief that they can contribute meaningfully to the ongoing narrative of women's history.

Women's history month is important to identify women who have worked hard and broken down barriers for future generations. We, as women, need to continue to do so.
